Me Hakkasime pihta kell 18:00

Thanks to the Vancouver Estonian Society for arranging a most enjoyable “Kirev Laulu ja Pilli Õhtu” with Jaan Kirss last Friday evening, 11 May, at Meie Kodu. Mike and I were eager to see and hear Jaan Kirss again since his last Vancouver „tour“ in ...

The first Talgud of the 2012 season took place on April 14th, and luckily for all participants, fell on a beautiful Saturday. Over 20 volunteers, children and dogs came out for the day. A great deal of work was accomplished, including cleaning up old debris from the winter, and getting the property, hall and equipment ready for the upcoming season of spring/summer events...including new gardens!

In addition to the regular work of the day, parents and children from the Eesti Kool came out to work on a new craft project.

A big thank you to all who came out to help! The next Talgud takes place on Saturday, May 12th, from 10am - 5pm. We hope to see you there!

Head Vabariigi Aastapäeva!

Sunday, February 24th marked the 94th anniversary of Estonia’s Independence. This past Saturday, members of our community met at Meie Kodu to commemorate this day.

Opening remarks and introductions were kindly made by Olev Rumm and Honorary Consul Harry Jaako. The occasion was marked with music, including a number of songs by the Vancouver Estonian Segakoor (mixed choir), conducted by Ms. Kaili Vesik. The lovely Leelo (women’s choir ensemble) also sang a handful of beautiful songs.
